St Lucia

We flew out to St Lucia for my sisters wedding which was taking place in a few days time. We had several days free to enjoy some of the local sights.

A panorama of a beach with the Atlantic Ocean beyond

The 'Drive In Volcano' just near Soufriere. The photo shows the Sulpher fields - and yes it did smell very eggy!

Walking through the botanical gardens just a short drive from the Volcano.

Taking a catamaran south along the coast towards the legendary Pitons. I had planned a trip up the highest one but because of a storm a while back the road had washed away and there was no access from this side of the island.

Stunning Caribbean mountain scenery.

Now heading into the port at Soufriere.

Time to go for a proper little walk...

The last full day and we took a taxi to the nearby Pidgeon Island (I was happy to get in a hill seeing as I couldn't go up one of the Pitons!)

Extremely hot on the way up to the top. That’s the fort on the other side of the island. You can just make out the Pitons in the top left.

Nearly at the top and the views are breathtaking.

A 180 panorama of Pidgeon Island and Rodney Bay from the fort.

Catching the crashing waves on the beach at Pidgeon Island.
