Catbells to High Spy

It felt good to be back out on the fells today even though it never stopped raining at all!

The forecast was for low cloud and rain all day, but on arrival at Keswick this morning the cloud base was a fair height, clearing Catbells and Maiden Moor so I decided on a walk along the ridge to High Spy and then through the valley on the way back. This photo was taken from a couple of minutes into the walk showing a cloud free Hindscarth and Robinson.

Now heading along to the bottom of Yewthwaite Mine and then along the path you can just make out along the wall at the bottom of Catbells.

Its bank holiday Monday at Easter... And I'm on the top of Catbells all by myself. Those people to the left were at the top when I arrived and headed down to give me the summit to myself. It was only brief solitude before a family arrived at the top. I expected it to be busier - but I suppose the weather is pretty poor...
