The Wainwrights
There are hundreds of mountains in the Lake District which are collectively known as The Wainwrights thanks to the author Alfred Wainwright of the Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells.

Waterfalls
With all of the mountains and lakes around you are sure to find numerous waterfalls too. The cascades may be deep within a gorge or pouring down the fellside. Great to see after some heavy rain!

Lakes
With 16 Lakes wintin the National Park there’s plenty to see from the water too! Take a boat trip out across the tranquil waters or explore on canoe or kayak.

Tarns
Tarns are small bodies of water that are not big enough to be considered a lake and the Lake District has literally hundreds of them. Ranging from small pools to vast sheets of water surrounded by towering crags and peaks.

Scrambles
With mountains comes crags, and with crags comes climbing. On the lower end of the climbing scale is Scrambling and there are hundreds of routes up these wonderful fells.
