Lowland Leader: Day 2

Distance: 5.64km (3.5 Miles)
Ascent: 94m (308ft)
Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

Day 2 of the assessment took us to the Langdon Hills near Basildon in Essex, another area I have never been to before. The walk today was much shorter than the other day and took us through some difficult to navigate woodlands and nature reserves.

We started at the Recreation Ground at Langdon Hills and followed paths through trees to a small pond.

Lovely walking through the woodland here.

A distant view from the edge of Langdon Hills.

Although not the best photo you can make out Dartford Bridge behind the bush!

A pond down in Dunton Plotlands Nature Reserve, owned and managed by Essex Wildlife Trust.

One of the old Plots is in tact and now a museum.

Another pond alongside where we were walking, this one had terrapins in!

Proof they are in there!
