Binsey Wild Camp
Distance: 2.5km (1.55 Miles)
Ascent: 180m (591ft)
Duration: Overnight Wild Camp
The good weather has returned and is set to stay for a couple of days so we headed out on another wild camp this evening on top of Binsey - possibly one of the best places to view the sunset. Visibility was outstanding today with areas of Scotland seen about 70 Miles away.
The evening sun on Dash Falls near Bakestall. Blencathra behind mostly in shadow.
Overwater and the northern fells.
Catbells leading up to Maiden Moor with Bowfell and Esk Pike behind.
Evening sun on the cairn on Binsey.
The summit shelter and trig col.
The Trig Col and cairn - the Pennines way over in the distance.
The Solway Firth and Scotland.
And in the opposite direction, the view mainly dominated by Skiddaw.
The sun starting to set over Criffel.
The Isle of Man to the west.
A lovely evening and superb sunset.
Silhouetted cairn on Binsey.
And the following morning the visibility has reduced a fair amount but the sun was shining once again.
Binsey summit as we walk back to the car.
Latrigg and Overwater with the northern fells behind on the descent down to Binsey Cottage.
