Barf & Lords Seat

Distance: 12.8km (7.95 Miles)
Ascent: 740m (2428ft)
Duration: 3 Hours 10 Minutes

Todays original plan was to head down to Eskdale and do Sca Fell and Slight Side but I decided to put that walk on hold until I can do it with someone as it would mark the completion of the Wainwrights.

The Clerk just near the road.

A lovely view east to the southern tip of Bassenthwaite Lake, Latrigg and the northern end of the Helvellyn Range.

The vale of Keswick.

Barf summit cairn backed by the hulk of Skiddaw.

The Vale of Keswick and Derwent Water.

And in the other direction the view looks up Bassenthwaite Lake to Binsey.

Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Woodend.

Criffel in Scotland.

The summit with my route up to Lords Seat.

The Skiddaw range and Barf.

Lords Seat summit.

The valley on the west side of Lords Seat. I'm not sure what this place is called...

From what I remember the forecast wasn't for all this sunshine!

Grisedale Pike and Hopegill Head.

Graystones. My path down followed the wall you can see in the far bottom right.

A view back to Lords Seat.

Hobcarton and Ladyside Pike.

Sculpture at Whinlatter.

My view east to Latrigg from the perfect place for lunch.

Skiddaw over Whinlatter Forest.

Barf. The white rock half way up is The Bishop of Barf.
