Wildboar Clough

Distance: 8.5km
Ascent: 369m
Duration: 3 Hours 37 Minutes

Todays goal was to scramble up Wildboar Clough, a Grade 2/3 Scramble up a stream that thankfully had little water in it due to a dry summer so far. The scramble was exciting and involved 3 solid section of short rock climbing.

The route also visits the enigmatic site of the Blenheim Mk I Crash Site.

Beginning our ascent up the side of the hill with views down to Torside Reservoir. I didn’t get any photos of the route up Wildboar Clough but watch the video for an insight into the route!

Visiting the crash site of the Blenheim Mk I Crash Site.

The crash site was very interesting and clearly doesn’t receive as many visitors as some of the more well known sites.

The memorial to those who lost their lives.

Plenty of wreckage to see.

From here we headed downhill to pick up the Pennine Way - a route I would not recommend as the descent across the valley to join the trail was so insanely steep we had to slide down…

Following the Pennine Way along Torside Clough.

Spectacular views over the reservoir as we make our way back down.

A Panoramic over Torside Clough and Torside Reservoir.

A final shot as we arrive back near the car park.
