Tryfan

Distance: 4.2km (2.61 Miles)
Ascent: 630m (2061ft)
Duration: 5 Hours

I woke this morning with no real plans of what I was going to do. The weather was turning out to be absolutely superb and many years ago I attempted to climb Tryfan but had to turn back due to the amount of snow. No chance of that today so I decided on the challenging scramble up the north face of Tryfan.

Starting by the shores of Llyn Ogwen at around 9:30am. I managed to get the last parking space as it was extremely busy already!

The ascent is straight from the road side allowing for views almost straight away over Llyn Ogwen to Pen Yr Ole Wen.

The breathtaking view north west from the scramble up Tryfan. That’s Y Garn on the left and Foel-goch in the centre. The peak in the background behind Foel-goch is Elidir Fawr.
