Skelgill Bank

An exceptionally windy afternoon on Skelgill Bank. Forecast was for 100mph winds on the summits!

A rather rough looking Derwent Water from the start of the ascent up to Skelgill Bank. The original plan was to continue up to the summit of Catbells but the wind speed was so strong, mobility was impossible. So we enjoyed the strong winds for about 20 minutes before heading back down.

And here showing it passing Lords Island.

Now on the top of Skelgill Bank looking to the top of Catbells. We continued along the ridge to the point where it starts to ascend again before turning back.

On the way down now and the sun came out for a brief time so I took another photo of Catbells to the south.
