Pike of Blisco

Distance: 14.3km (8.8 Miles)
Ascent: 1254m (4114ft)
Duration: 5 Hours 35 Minutes

Pike Of Blisco was the main goal for today as it has been 5 years since I was last up there! I wanted to do a longer walk today though so I linked it in with Lingmoor Fell and Side Pike.

A view up to Oxendale from the start of the walk. The fell on the left in the cloud is Pike O'Blisco and directly ahead is Crinkle Crags.

Oxendale from the road to Stool End Farm.

Oxendale Beck near Stool End.

Oxendale. My route takes me up a steep path to the depression near the left of the photo.

Oxendale Beck.

Great Langdale from part of the way up the fellside. The Langdale Pikes would be on the left if the cloud was a little higher!

Whorneyside Force... Still haven't walked that way yet.

Great Langdale from slightly higher up the path.

Browney Gill.

Waterfalls at the top of Browney Gill.

Red Tarn.

Pike O'Blisco summit cairn.

Now back out of the cloud and descending down to the road below Side Pike which is the peak near the centre of the photo.

Oxendale and Mickleden. The fell in the centre is The Band.

Awesome shape of Side Pike. I have wanted to climb it since the first time I was up Lingmoor Fell which I think was 2008?

Bleamoss Beck, Blea Tarn and Side Pike.

Blea Tarn and Side Pike. In nicer weather this is a lovely view of the tarn and the Langdale Pikes.

Now most of the way up Lingmoor Fell looking down to Blake Rigg and Blea Tarn.

A view over to The Band and Side Pike.

Lingmoor Fell summit cairn.

The Langdale Pikes almost out of the cloud.

Side Pike. My route takes me round the left side through 'Fat Mans Agony' and then up to the summit.

Far Mans Agony. It really is quite narrow!

Great Langdale curving round below Blea Rigg.

I don’t know who Pete is but - Happy 56th!
