Helvellyn from Dunmail Raise

Distance: 15.4km (9.56 Miles)
Ascent: 1124m (3688ft)
Duration: 4 Hours 30 Minutes

It was a perfect day for walking with bright sunshine, clear views and not too warm - actually it was really cold at the top!

Steel Fell and clear blue skies from the start of the ascent alongside Raise Beck.

My route alongside Raise Beck. Its a solid path alongside the beck and is gentle all the way to the top.

Helvellyn, Catstye Cam and Striding Edge. I was thinking earlier that it may have been good enough to do Striding Edge today but once up here I'm happy I didn't! The wind was fairly strong, yet there were many people still crossing the edge.

A gorgeous sunny view up Thirlmere on the descent around Comb Crags. Possibly one of the best views of the day! And shortly after I found that the sole on my boots is starting to come off... Time to send them back to Meindl!
