Beddgelert

Distance: 3.8km (2.36 Miles)
Ascent: 50m (164ft)
Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes

First day of a two day break in Wales and the weather was pretty bad to start with but started to clear up after lunchtime.

Gelert's Grave in Beddgelert.

And again from the side. The paths to the graves were flooded thanks to all the rain we have had in the last few months!

Fair amount of surface water today.

The steep slopes of Mynydd Sygyn, the peak is about 300m.

Ruins of an old building close to the grave.

Welsh Highland Railway.

An old sheep dipping pen.

It was slightly further along the path that we had to turn back as the river had submerged the path by about a foot so we could not carry on without getting soaked.

The lower slopes of Craig Wen to the north of Beddgelert.

Back on the road now and a quick stop for a photo of the view as we made our way towards Swallow Falls.

Thats Snowdon up there in the clouds. Which I will be climbing tomorrow if the weather turns out how they predict!

Swallow Falls was raging today!

I have never seen so much water falling at one time before!
