Tarn Hows

Tarn Hows is originally was three small tarns, but in the 20th Century they were dammed to form one larger tarn. This area was loved by Beatrix Potter and bought by her in 1929, and has since been given to the National Trust. It is exceptionally popular with all ages as there is an easy and well defined path around the tarn. Parking is also available close by just to the south.
