Today was the day I headed out on my second round of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge with a larger group aiding their walk for charity. I was raising money for the Ambleside and Langdale Mountain Rescue Team.

Setting off early in the morning from Horton in Ribblesdale.

Long shadows in the early morning sunshine.

Following the Pennine Way to Pen-y-Ghent

Steps up this wonderful mountain.

The view down from the rocky scramble.

Pen Y Ghent summit.

Distant Ingleborough - out last peak of the day.

Zooming in on the flat summit.

Zooming in on Whernside, peak no. 2 of the day. Time to head to the Viaduct you can see below the mountain.

A view back to Pen Y Ghent

Starting to cloud over as we descend towards the viaduct.

Ribbleshead Viaduct.

Following the river upstream towards Whernside.

A lovely waterfall on the way up.

A small tarn on the way up Whernside.

Entering the cloud as we approach the summit.

Whernside Trig Point and the highest point today.

Descending out of the cloud to cross the valley and head up the otherside.

Looking back to Whernside along the newly constructed path.

Ingleborough Trig Point.

Beginning the descent to Horton in Ribblesdale, a solid 5 miles away.

A view back to Inglebourough.

And just like that the weather started to improve again.

Pen Y Ghent in the distance.

Finally down in Horton. What an epic day!
