Whinlatter to Lords Seat

Distance: 17.6km (10.93 Miles)
Ascent: 1043m (3422ft)
Duration: 5 Hours 7 Minutes

The original route for this walk was to head up the fellside the same way as I did last time (near the Aiken Plantation) but thanks to a new load of Pine Trees I had to keep changing the route and came out of the woods by Tarbarrel Moss before I could even head over to Whinlatter.

The slopes of Broom Fell leading round to Lords Seat from the start of the walk.

(About 7km further along) I arrived at Whinlatter Summit.

Whinlatter cairn looking to Lords Seat and a cloud covered Skiddaw.

The slightly lower top of Brown How - This is the Wainwright top.

Looking back to the high summit on Whinlatter.

The valley of Hobcarton. Grisedale Pike to the left and Hopegill Head to the right.

The summit of Ullister Hill looking to Lords Seat.

Grisedale Pike over the trees.

The North Western Fells from Lords Seat.

Skiddaw and Barf from Lords Seat.

And the North Western Fells.

Layers of fells. Thats Pike O'Stickle to the left, with High Spy next to it and the main peak in the centre is Causey Pike.

Helvellyn and the Eastern Fells.

A slightly brighter scene as a bit of sunshine comes out.

Broom Fell summit cairn and shelter.

Burthwaite Heights, Sail Fell and Binsey in the background.

Greystones Summit Cairn. This is the Wainwright Top, the actual highest point is just over there.

A small cairn on Kirk Fell looking over to Mell Break.

Spout Force.

A brief glow of sunshine made everything turn bright orange!
