Today was the day to finish off the Wainwrights (its been delayed a bit because I was told I wasn't allowed to do it by myself!) and we had stunning weather to go with it.
Heading north into Eskdale with the towering skyline of Bowfell and Crinkle Crags.

Harter Fell across Eskdale. Last time I was in Eskdale I was summit this peak.
And this one too, which is Green Crag.
The last peak of the day; Slight Side... and the only one left for me!
Slight Side and Scafell Pike to the left. Esk Pike to the right.
From down here in Eskdale you can see why old folk used to call them the Pikes of Scafell. The tops on the skyline are Scafell Pike (summit not in view), Ill Crag, Esk Pike and Bowfell.

Upper Eskdale - one of the most remote places in the Lake District.
Cam Spout waterfall. Our route was to scramble up the right hand side of it.

The view over Upper Eskdale which is about 370m above sea level.
Waterfalls along How Beck. On a hot summers day these pools would be perfect for a quick dip!
Sca Fell now in view.
Almost 5 miles in and we're still going uphill... The annoying thing is we have to come back down this way to get to the Foxes Tarn path.
Lords Rake. Is it me or has the chockstone fallen slightly since I was last here?

Made it! Congratulations Emily on your first summiting of Englands Highest! Time to head back down towards Sca Fell.
Foxes Tarn route. I wasn't expecting it to be so similar to Lords Rake - just without the scree. Much easier than Lords Rake though!

Lots of people now on Scafell Pike (there were about 15 when we were up there).
Foxes Tarn. Supposedly the highest tarn in the lakes but I have to agree with Sean at StridingEdge.net that the highest would be Long Top Tarn on Crinkle Crags.

That’s the last Wainwright completed! All 214 summits! From the 4th April 2007 when I went up Pavey Ark through to 9th May 2012 ending on Slight Side... Time for a little celebration with a couple of small bottles of drink and one of the longest walks back to the car that I can remember!
