Today we were over on the western side of the lakes climbing Fellbarrow and Low Fell. To begin with the weather was fairly nice when we set off, but soon the wind picked up and the rain started for a majority of the walk.
Lorton Vale from the start of the walk - looking towards Whinlatter.
The two summits of Mellbreak.
Grasmoor and a small section of Crummock Water.
Lorton Vale.
Fellbarrow - our second peak of the day.
This is the higher (but not Wainwright summit of Low Fell).
And the Wainwright summit of Low Fell.
Crummock Water and Buttermere from Low Fell. The small fell to the left is Rannerdale Knotts.
Now on Fellbarrow - showing the summit cairn, trig col and view towards the coast.
