After two days of big walks I decided to do just a short walk today up the lowest Wainwright of Castle Crag. The summit offers amazing views and is the site of an ancient Iron Age Fort.
Looking up to Nitting Haws from the road.
A classic view of Castle Crag.
A view back through Borrowdale to Walla Crag.
Mines on the other side of the valley.
A view into Borrowdale.
Derwent Water from Castle Crag.
Kings How on Grange Fell.
Fairly steep walk down from the top!
A last open view of Borrowdale before we head back down.
Back at the Derwent and on our way back to Grange.
