I think Helvellyn via Striding Edge is a route that all fell walkers should do a some point on their travels. It really is the most exciting route up Helvellyn and not too tough.

Starting our ascent alongside Mires Beck. That’s Ullswater and Place Fell to the right.

Ullswater and Place Fell from much higher up - in fact we are only about 10 minutes from Birkhouse Moor summit.
